If there was one word that summed up the Dodge Durango changes in 2021, "power" would be it. In 2021, the Dodge Durango gets more power than was offered in the past. With a new, ultra-fast Hellcat engine beneath the hood of select models, the 2021 Durango surpasses the previous maximum top speed by over 200 HP. The Hellcat engine has a peak power output of 710 HP and an equally impressive peak torque of 645 LB-FT. Along with giving the Durango more power, the new Hellcat engine increases the Durango's acceleration time from 0-60 in under four seconds. The Durango gets new styling cues on the outside, including larger front brakes and an aerodynamic spoiler in the back, to match its new power credentials. A more luxurious interior is in store for the Durango in 2021 as well, which has more chrome accents and leather details for a polished and contemporary design.

Performance changes from the top down for the Dodge Durango in 2021. The latest large SUV is now offered with the Hellcat engine, borrowed from some of the fastest vehicles on the road. Although it is a large SUV, the Hellcat increases the Durango's acceleration to rival many sports cars. The engine takes the Durango's top speed of 475 HP in 2020 to a new top 710 HP speed in 2021. Torque is also increased for the maximum engine. The second engine has an increased towing capacity in 2021, but the base engine is the same in 2021 as it was for the 2020 Durango.

The 2021 Durango gets a new look to match its upgraded performance numbers. The 2021 Durango is configured with a different front grille and a rear spoiler with a unique shape. Both design changes are intended to emphasize the Durango's power output and make the vehicle more aerodynamic. The 2021 Durango carries over some of the SUV's top features from 2020, including a hood-mounted raised exhaust, chrome touches, and an assortment of wheel sizes and paint colors.

The interior of the 2021 Durango has more features and creature comforts. This year's Durango has a more extensive standard touchscreen interface, which now has a 10-inch screen at the base level. The Durango gets some upscale touches in 2021, including chrome accents extending to the cabin and more premium leather accents in the cabin.
